Description
Fitches is the King James rendering of a plant most scholars now identify as black cumin or nigella, a small aromatic seed rather than a grain. Isaiah used the farmer’s care in sowing it — never scattered carelessly, always suited to the soil — as an image of God’s deliberate wisdom.
