Mentioned in 11 verses (KJV)
Description
Vinegar was simply soured wine, sharp and cheap, and field workers routinely dipped their bread in it as a refreshing, everyday meal — exactly what Boaz offered Ruth. Centuries later, a soldier lifted a vinegar-soaked sponge to Jesus’ lips on the cross, the same humble drink given in his final moments.
Key verses

Ruth 2:14
“And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.”
